Weddings
Weddings are infinitely rewarding and deeply moving events to photograph. To be a fly on the wall, recording the day two people’s lives change forever, is pretty heady stuff. When I‘m photographing a wedding I am completely in my element, it is wildly exciting, and I often capture some of my best images of the year. But here's the skinny - to be able to lay low and intuitively capture the best moments of the day requires planning on the front end. Lots of planning.
By the time your wedding rolls around, I will rival the wedding coordinator in how well I know the flow and staging of your event. I will have scouted out the venue, double checked the lighting, and picked the ideal angles and backgrounds to best record the day. I will have done my homework so that I am free to just move around and document the experience as it unfolds.
On your wedding day, you will have photographic coverage from when you get dressed right on up until you decide to leave the reception ... but you probably won’t be aware of that. My goal is to be the invisible photographer and record the details of your day. Quietly. I don’t want to orchestrate it; it is absolutely not my day. You won’t see me interrupting special/hilarious/moving moments by making everyone look at the camera. The photographic coverage is to provide you with the real memories of the day, staging them somehow spoils that feel.
After the wedding, I get down to business. I will organize hundreds of images into easily accessible categories, which I'll post to an on-line gallery where they can be shared with family and friends. Each image will be color corrected by hand and individually retouched when needed. You'll receive a DVD slideshow showcasing the highlights of the day, set to your wedding music. A flush-mount, leather album will be provided so that reliving the memories is as simple as turning the pages. You can use your print credit to create portraits for your walls or gifts for your family. And, best of all, I will furnish you with the digital negatives of all the images from the day. These are your memories, I want you to have every moment that the camera captures!
