Seniors
When it comes to Senior Portraits, high schoolers tend to fall somewhere between two camps. There are those who bring creative props, a bunch of outfits, and think that a 2 hour session is hardly any time at all to record this glorious phase of life ... and then there are those who hate sitting for pictures. The picture-dreaders usually think that five minutes is pretty much four minutes longer than they’d care to spend getting their portraits taken. The good news: I can relate to both camps.
I tend to shoot informally and rapidly, often capturing unscripted moments that reveal your true personality. And, I keep you moving around. A lot. This way you can't think too much about the shoot and, as a result, the images appear more natural. Changing the background settings also keeps the portraits from appearing all “samey-same” and prevents you from getting that glassy-eyed, Olan Mills look. Though the photo sessions are active and fast paced, the atmosphere remains relaxed. Always.
Senior year really is a celebratory time and it’s fun when your portraits can reflect that. I'm game to try all sorts of creative images - some cool, some traditional, some just plain zany. Just remember, I also understand that being the subject of a photo session can be uncomfortable for some people and downright excruciating for others. If this is the case for you, I can make it less painful. Many a reluctant subject has ended up laughing and enjoying my sessions in spite of themselves. Bottom line, great images are possible, whatever camp you fall into!
